Fynd A Way

“ I have come to realize over the years that in racing long distances everyone suffers. The people at the back of the pack suffer, as do those in the middle and at the front of the pack. The only difference is that the runners at the front have learned how to suffer better.”

– Sandy McCallum

This site is geared toward older runners. The number of Masters Athletes( 50+) is steadily increasing. I am a female Masters athlete in the 60-69 age group. I love competing in ultramarathons and marathons. I am coming back from an 8 year absence in the sport. As I begin training again, I am amazed at the advancements in knowledge to help older runners stay in the sport, or to join the sport. Evidence is showing that running for seniors is healthy and beneficial and a great way to be socially connected with other like minded people.

I will be sharing my journey of training to be competitive again. I will be blogging on what I learn along the way to share with other Masters athletes. I will post articles on training and racing. I will share tips on hiking and climbing. And I will be dropping recipes on the food I love to cook after a hard day on the trails. Finally, I hope you will share your own stories with me and the viewers of this site. I want us all to be inspired to be better. Age is just a number, you are your own success story!
