Being over 60 now is no time to slow down. I would love to share my experiences in hopes of encouraging other “seniors” out there that it is never too late to check off something on your bucket list.
I have lived in 5 different countries. Canada, the United States, Japan, Germany and the Italian island of Sardinia.
As an “airforce brat” I grew up overseas, and was lucky enough to see most of Europe before I turned 18.
I lived in Japan for a year, and worked at the Japan Broadcasting Corporation, otherwise known as Nippon Hoso Kyokai (NHK) I travelled the country, and fell in love with everything Japanese.
With ultrarunning I travelled the world competing in desert races. You name a desert and I have probably been there.
Here are the 29 countries I have been able to squeeze in so far.
NORTH AMERICA: Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Bahamas.
SOUTH AMERICA: Colombia (5 times) and Chile.
AFRICA: Morocco (9 times), Libya, Mauritania, Egypt (3 times) and Namibia.
ASIA: Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Oman.
EUROPE: Germany, France (10 times) Italy (2 times) Switzerland, Austria, Spain, England, San Marino, Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Turkey (2 times)
